Jess & Lewis
Clearwell Castle
I had a fantastic day covering this wedding. Jess and Lewis are a lovely couple who were very relaxed in front of the camera (which always makes my job easier) plus with the added benefit of having a stunning wedding venue! The weather stayed mostly dry, a few spots of rain but nothing to stop us taking any photographs. The rooms inside the venue are just as stunning as the well kept grounds, making this venue perfect for wedding photography come rain or shine!
The Venue itself, is a Gothic Revival house constructed around 1727. Built by Thomas Wyndham to the designs of Roger Morris, it is the earliest Georgian Gothic Revival castle in England predating better-known examples such as Strawberry Hill House by over twenty years. A home of the Wyndham family for 150 years, the first half of the twentieth century saw a disastrous fire, and subsequent asset-stripping, which brought the castle close to ruin. Slowly restored from 1954, in the 1970s the castle housed a recording studio used by, among other major bands, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Bad Company, and Queen…..
Jess and Lewis, I wish you all the best for your future together
